My mom and I took an early morning drive through Sawtooth Valley over Galena Pass from Ketchum one fall morning. Our drive ended up at the Sawtooth Bakery, but even better was the scenery along the way. This is not too far from the fish hatchery, as the highway crosses the Salmon River. I loved the sinuous line of the silvery river buffered by pillowy red and gold willows.
